NOTARIZATION

WHAT IS A NOTARY PUBLIC?

 A notary public is an official authorized by the government to:

  • Witness the signing of important documents
     
  • Administer oaths or affirmations
     
  • Prevent fraud by verifying identities
     
  • Certify copies of documents

TYPES OF DOCUMENTS THAT REQUIRE NOTARIZING

  • Statutory declarations – Similar to affidavits, often used in legal or government processes.
     
  • Depositions – Sworn testimony taken outside of court.

  • Mortgage agreements – Required by lenders to ensure the borrower agrees to terms.

  • Promissory notes – Agreements to repay loans.
     
  • Trust documents – When creating a trust for estate planning.
     
  • Bank forms – Like those for authorizing someone to access accounts.

  • Wills and living wills – Notarization can help validate them (although this varies).
     
  • Advance healthcare directives – Like Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) forms.

  • $45 for the first document that requires notarization


  • $15 for each additional document that is related to the first document


Our fees for commissioning are as follows:


  • $25 for each document that requires commissioning
